How does honey treat wounds?

Honey is particularly good at at lowering swelling in wounds and can be used to prevent some infections. Might I ask why?

I’m uncertain. It has medicinal properties, the same as elfroot and other such things. Why was Byerly talking of honey?

Riftwatch has been given honey. He offered suggestions for using it.

Does jam do similar things to wounds?

That does sound like him. Jam would likely not - it would be too sugary and may cause problems, plus whatever else may have put in during the making. You can’t be certain of what was used to make it.

But honey can be taken purely. Jam cannot.
